Partners and Associates
Mr. Hermann is the Founder and CEO of Leste Group. Prior to founding Leste Group, Mr. Hermann was a Senior Vice President, Statutory Director and member of the Board of Executive Directors at Banco BTG Pactual, where he spent over 22 years of his career. Prior to participating in the formation of BTG Pactual, Mr. Hermann ran the Global Emerging Market Equity Desk and served as the Head of LATAM Equity Derivatives and Structured Products for UBS. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hermann served as Head of the Equities Division and Head of Asset Management while a partner at Banco Pactual.
Mrs. Souza is the Chief Financial Officer of Leste Group and Managing Partner of Leste Financial Services. She also sits on Leste’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Leste, Mrs. Souza served as the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Finance for the City of Rio de Janeiro, where she was responsible for restructuring the finances of the city. Earlier in her career, Mrs. Souza was a Partner of Paineiras Asset Management, a portfolio manager covering Latam equities at Banco Pactual and also worked at Banco BBM.
Mr. Ganem is the Chief Risk Officer of Leste Group. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Ganem was a Partner and Investment Manager at Latitude GF, a Partner and Portfolio Manager of fixed income and foreign exchange at Paraty Investimentos, the Chief Risk Officer at Fiducia Asset Management and a Market Risk Manager for Bank of America in Latin America.
Mrs. Camargo is the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Leste Group. She also sits on Leste’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Leste, Ms. Camargo worked as a Credit Analyst at JGP. Earlier in her career, Ms. Camargo was a lawyer at Vieira, Rezende, Barbosa & Guerreiro and also at Xavier, Bernardes e Bragança.
Mr. Sabrit is the Managing Partner of Leste Group as well as the Real Estate, Credit and Capital Markets business units. He also sits on Leste’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Sabrit was a Partner and Portfolio Manager for structured credit funds at Polo Capital Management, a Brazil-based hedge fund, where he ran a portfolio of R$ 1.3 billion. Earlier in his career, Mr. Sabrit served as the Managing Director of Planner Investment Bank in São Paulo, where he coordinated the issuances of over R$ 2 billion of local debt. Mr. Sabrit was a Founding Partner of US Broker Dealer Bulltick Capital Markets and played a significant role in creating a US$ 980 million asset backed securities fund.

Mr. Jackson is a Director at Leste Capital Markets. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Jackson was the Partner responsible for Investor Relations and Client Services at a $1 billion investment manager, providing international pension funds, endowments, family offices and hedge funds access to high yielding special credit situations, legal claims and distressed investments in Brazil. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jackson was responsible for international business development and capital raising for Vector Investimentos, an independent asset manager based in São Paulo focused on structured credit, special situations and real estate investments.
Mr. Lustre is a Director at Leste Capital Markets. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Lustre was responsible for international business development and distribution at Votorantim Asset (VAM). Earlier in his career, Mr. Lustre was the Product and Sales Director at Stratus Group, a Partner at Fram Capital and Relationship and Product Manager at Itau Asset Management.
Mr. de la Fe is a Managing Director at Leste Capital Markets. He also sits on Leste’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. de la Fe was the Head of International Wealth Management for Latin America and Florida for Jefferies. Earlier in his career, Mr. de la Fe served as the Regional Managing Director for Latin America at Morgan Stanley and as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers where he was the Head of International Wealth Management for Latin America.
Mr. Libertini is a Director at Leste Capital Markets. Prio to joining Leste, Mr. Libertini served as Head of Capital Markets at Mattoni Group where we was responsible for capital raising and investor relations. He also served as as Managing Director at Lloyd Jones Capital, a private equity real estate firm specializing in value-add multifamily investments for institutional investors. Earlier in his career, Mr. Libertini was the Senior Managing Director for Cabrera Capital Markets. Earlier in his career, Mr. Libertini co-founded Cabrera Capital where he still serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Libertini also held financial positions with both Unilever Corporation and Cumberland Farms/Gulf Oil.
Mr. Otaky is a Managing Director responsible for Leste’s New Initiatives. He also sits on Leste’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Otaky was a Co-Managing Partner of an emerging market venture investment fund and co-founded a pioneering data-driven approach focused on scale in early stage technology investing. Earlier in his career, Mr. Otaky worked in high growth startups and in entrepreneurial roles within larger organizations.

CEO and founder of Leste, Mr. Hermann has an extensive experience in the Financial Markets. He started his career at Banco Pactual in 1992 as a fixed income analyst. As Head of the Asset Management division, he became a Partner of the bank in 1998. He was then the co-Head of the Equities division between 1998 and 2006. After the UBS acquisition of Banco Pactual in 2006, Mr. Hermann became the Head of Global Emerging Markets Equities, Equity Derivatives Latam and Structured Products desks. As a founding Partner of BTG Asset Management in 2009, he led the Global Equities desk. After BTG bought Banco Pactual back from UBS, Mr. Hermann became a Director and a member of the Board of the bank until 2014. In that same year he founded Leste.
Mr. Cardoso has over 17 years of experience in financial markets. He joined Banco Pactual in 2003 as a Fixed Income analyst and then moved on to the Asset Management division of UBS Pactual Bank where he was a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Fund of Funds. From 2008 to 2009 Mr. Cardoso was the Global Risk Manager of Emerging Markets at BTG Pactual Bank and then joined the Portfolio Management team responsible for Asia Pacific and Latin America until 2015. From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Cardoso was a Portfolio Manager at Leste Global Investments before leaving to form own Investment firm in the USA. In 2019, Mr. Cardoso joined Leste Capital Management as a Portfolio Manager. Mr. Cardoso holds a BS in Economics from IBMEC (Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets).
Mr. Ferreira has over 12 years of experience in financial markets. He began his career in 2007 at Meta Asset as a Risk Manager and subsequently became a trader of interest rates and currencies. In 2009, he joined XP Asset Management and became of partner of XP Group, where he focused on quantitative strategies. Mr. Ferreira was instrumental in the launch of the XP Unique Quant Fund and was the manager of the vehicle until 2017. He then became the global manager of the XP Macro Fund. Mr. Ferreira joined Leste Capital Management in 2019 to focus on quantitative strategies. Mr. Ferreira holds a Production Engineering degree from UFRJ and a Masters degree in Finance from PUC-RJ.
Eduardo Igreja is a Systematic Portfolio Manager with expertise in daily and intraday strategies for Brazilian markets, Factor Models (Momentum, Carry, Value, and Curvature plays) and behavioral biases’ driven strategies. Former Partner of Bozano Investimentos, Igreja holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Military Institute of Engineering (IME) and a Masters degree in Finance from FGV, focus on Behavioral Finance.
Mr. Vasconcellos has over 9 years of experience in financial markets. He began his career as a trainee at the brokerage firm ICAP and then joined XP Asset Management in 2010 as a quantitative analyst, where he became a co-manager of the XP Unique Quant Fund. In 2015, He was promoted to partner of XP Group and in 2017 started working in the Financial Planning area with oversight over XP’s products. Mr. Vasconcellos joined Leste Capital Management in 2019 to focus on quantitative strategies. Mr. Vasconcellos holds an Economics degree from PUC-RJ.
Head Portfolio Manager of Corporate Fundamentals at Leste Global Investments and manager of the London Office. He has vast experience in the financial markets. He started his career as a banker in Equity Capital Markets at UBS. 5 years later he joined JP Morgan on the equity derivatives sales & trading desk. In 2003 he joined a new hedge fund launch in London, Polygon, to trade their soft catalyst and capital structure portfolios. He moved with them in 2006 to establish and co-run their HK office. In 2009 Michael joined a long only asset manager in Switzerland as partner, returning to the UK in 2011 to join BTG Pactual, that was establishing their equity trading business in London at that time, and was responsible for convertible bonds and capital structure. He left BTG in 2014 to set up his own fund as CIO with two former colleagues. Based in London, he has joined Leste in 2016.
Mr. Berardo has 15 years of experience in financial markets. He started his career at Banco Pactual as an equity analyst in 2003 and then later joined the Equity Desk to build a portfolio based on quantitative analysis. Mr. Berardo later participated in the foundation of BTG Asset Management and then became the Head of Arbitrage, Quantitative and Risk Arb Desks at BTG Pactual. Mr. Berardo graduated with a degree in Economics from PUC-RJ.

Mr. Suppan is a Managing Director at Leste Credit. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Suppan was the Founding Partner of Lendmarq, a private real estate credit platform. Earlier in his career, Mr. Suppan worked in acquisitions for Fortress Investment Group’s Infrastructure Platform and as an Analyst at Wellington Management and JP Morgan.
Mr. Benslimane is a Managing Director at Leste Credit. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Benslimane was the Founding Partner of Lendmarq, a private real estate credit platform. Earlier in his career, Mr. Benslimane worked for Rialto Capital Management and for KPMG’s Financial Risk Management Advisory Group.
Mr. Marquest is a Senior Analyst for Leste Credit. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Marques was a Partner and General Counsel for Vision Brazil Investments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Marques was a Banking and Capital Markets Lawyer at Pinheiro Neto Advogados.
Mr. Chi is a Manager Director for Leste Credit. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Chi was a Senior Credit and Structured Finance Portfolio Manager with Julius Baer Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Chi was a Senior Credit Analyst at Itaú Asset Management where his group was responsible for managing US$ 20 billion.
Mr. Watanabe is a Portfolio Manager for Leste Credit. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Watanabe was a Co-Portfolio Manager of Structured Credit Funds at Polo Capital Management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Watanabe worked for Planner Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank, Moody’s Investor Services and Wachovia Securities.

Head of Leste Litigation Finance. Mr. Viveiros has a extensive experience in litigation. He started his career at Taunay, Sampaio e Rocha Advogados law firm in 1995. He was then responsible for the Corporate Litigation and Arbitration division at the Rio de Janeiro office of Xavier, Bernardes, Bragança Advogados. In 2012 became a partner at SLK, a law firm with focus in civil and strategic corporate litigation and arbitration. Mr. Viveiros is a lawyer from PUC-RJ, holds a graduate degree in Corporate Law from IBMEC-RJ and specialization in tax law from IBET.
Ms. Kohlbach is a specialist in strategic litigation with previous experience working at the law firm Wald & Associates from 2006 to 2013. In 2013, she became a partner of law firm Almeida Neto & Aranha de Camargo. Ms. Kohlbach holds a Bachelor’s degree in law at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), a Masters degree and PhD in Procedural Law at UERJ and holds a specialization in international arbitration at International Law Institute (Washington, DC) and at International Academy for Arbitration Law (Paris, France). Ms. Kohlbach is also an author of “Ação Anulatória de Sentença Arbitral: aspectos e limites”, 2014, and various scientific articles about arbitration and procedural law.
Ms. Marra has significant experience in the area of civil litigation and commercial arbitration. She was a member of the litigation team in Tauil & Chequer in association with Mayer Brown LLP, and of Machado Meyer Sendacz Opice Advogados, where she worked as a lawyer from August 2016 to June 2017. Since then, she is associated to the Leste Litigation Finance team as Legal Analyst. Marianna is also a member of the faculty and a teacher of arbitration classes at Rio de Janeiro BAR School of Law (ESA – OAB/RJ). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Law at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a specialization degree in Civil Procedural Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio).
Mr. Rocha is an experienced litigator focused on arbitration and commercial litigation having been a member of Sergio Bermudes Advogados before joining Leste Litigation Finance team. He holds a Master´s degree in Civil Procedure Law at Rio de Janeiro State University, a specialization in Civil Procedure Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) which is the same institution where he graduated in law and journalism. Mr. Rocha teaches Civil Procedure Law to graduate and post-graduate students at PUC-Rio and arbitration classes at Rio de Janeiro BAR School of Law (ESA – OAB/RJ). He is also author of several articles involving themes related with arbitration and litigation.
Ms. Setton is a lawyer with extensive practice in civil and commercial litigation, arbitration, corporate and contractual law. Before joining Leste Litigation Finance team, she had been a member of experienced law firms, including Ferro, Castro Neves, Daltro e Gomide Advogados and also Rosman, Penalva, Souza Leão, Franco e Vale Advogados. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and is a Master’s degree student in Civil Law at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).

Mr. Bailune is a Managing Director for Leste Real Estate. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Bailune was responsible for structuring new real estate businesses and evaluating real estate collateral at Banco Máxima. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bailune was the Head of Research and Business Structuring at Global Equities Gestão de Recursos.
Mr. Vieira is a Portfolio Manager for Leste Real Estate. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Vieira was the Co-Founder of Read Invest, a boutique investment firm focused on structured operations for the real estate industry. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vieira worked for XP Inc., Brazilian Mortgages and Safra Bank, where he co-managed several large real estate investments.
Mr. Morgado is a Managing Director of Leste Real Estate Advisors. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Morgado was the Co-Founder of Read Invest, a boutique investment firm focused on structured operations for the real estate industry. Earlier in his career, Mr. Morgado worked for XP Inc., BTG Pactual and Brazilian Finance & Real Estate Group after starting his career at the law firm Cescon, Barrieu & Flesch.
Mr. Machado is a Managing Director at Leste Real Estate. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Machado was a Managing Partner at XP Inc, Brazil’s largest independent investment platform, where he was responsible for managing several real estate funds. Earlier in his career, Mr. Machado worked for Brazilian Finance and Real Estate Group where he structured the first Brazilian REIT.
Mr. Miranda is a Portfolio Manager for Leste Real Estate. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Miranda served as Senior Investment Executive for London and Regional Properties (L+R). Earlier in his career, Mr. Miranda was a Senior Vice President at Host Hotels & Resorts, the CIO for Brazil Hospitality Group and an analyst at GP Investments and Deutsche Bank.

Mr. Rodenburg is the Managing Partner at Leste Private Equity. Prior to joining Leste, Mr. Rodenburg worked for the asset management firm, Vinci Partners. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rodenburg managed private equity investments for Opportunity Bank and was a lawyer with Skadden Arps and Barbosa, Mussnich & Aragão.
Mr. Dale has more than 10 years of experience in Private Equity, Equity Research and Portfolio Management. He started his career at BTG Pactual in 2006, as a Financial Analyst. After working as a Senior Equity Analyst at Inox Global Capital Management in London, he joined Fides Asset Management in 2011 as a partner responsible for the areas of consumption, pulp & paper, education and shopping malls. He joined Leste Private Equity in May/2015. Graduated in production engineering at PUC-rio and holds a master’s degree in finance from the London Business School.
Started his career at BTG Pactual at the Market Risk Department working with quantitative pricing models and proprietary desk risk supervision. Joined Leste in July 2019 as part of the Private Equity team. Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering with a Minor in Statistics from PUC-RJ and an undergraduate extension in Applied Mathematics at École Centrale de Marseille.
Started his career in 2012 at BTG Pactual as a back-office analyst, before moving into the Investment Banking team, where he stayed until 2016 working on M&A transactions. Later he worked for Landmark Alantra Group, focusing on middle market transactions in Latin America. Joined Leste in March 2017 as part of the Private Equity team. Bachelor´s degree in Economics from Universidade Federal do Paraná and Master in Finance from EADA Business School in Barcelona.
Lawyer specialized in Business and Corporate Law, Capital Markets and M&A. She worked at Tauil & Chequer Advogados associated with Mayer Brown LLP and Moreira Menezes, Martins Advogados. Also in this last office, she worked as secondee at Grupo Leste. In 2016, she joined Grupo Leste and works as a lawyer in the Private Equity area. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ, with a specialization in Finance from Alumni Coppead – UFRJ and an MBA in Business Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV RJ.
